Our Mission: In response to God’s call to love one another, and bolstered by the spirit of generosity in volunteers, staff, clients, gleaning partners and donors, Project SHARE food pantry programs and partnerships meet the evolving needs of people on their journey to freedom from want.
It is our privilege to help and serve your nutritional / food needs.
Project SHARE distributes food during the week of the 3rd Thursday of each month. Recipients may come once per month during that week. Our hours of distribution are Tuesday 12-2pm, Wednesday 9-11am, Thursday 3:30-5:30pm, and Saturday 9-11am. Each allocation of food contains 55-65 nutritious food items, approximately one week’s groceries for a family of four with a retail value of $200+.
It is our mission and vision not just to provide food but to insure that our food is healthy and nutritious. With that in mind we are always in search of fresh product and seek to eliminate processed foods and items high in unhealthy content such as sugars. We encourage clients to choose what is best for their families healthy development.
SHARing what we know is an essential part of our philosophy. We offer programs and hands on participatory events. The focus of our attention is in our Kitchen, for it is here where we all learn to prepare the foods that we have available to the community. By SHARing techniques and insights into the healthy benefits of the selected foods and their preparation, we are able to make our lives more enjoyable, healthier and tastier!
We offer cooking classes for kids (three age-levels of Kids in the Kitchen) which provide opportunities to learn simple cooking techniques that will make participants more self sufficient while allowing them to SHARE newfound skills with friends and families! Plus we get to SHARE our preparations at the end of each session.
For ADULTS we offer a once a month cooking and preparation class, with good nutrition on the side. Slice of the Month is held at the Farmstand and gives adults news ways of preparing the foods that we will be distributing for this month.
