For a nonprofit organization to succeed, it must have a well functioning and dedicated board. Project SHARE is blessed to have a highly qualified board to oversee Project SHARE’s adherence to our mission and vision.
Jenn Haplin
James Markley
Jim Markley is our Board Chair and has been a SHARE volunteer since 2013 when he retired from the Army after 30 years. He became a member of the board in April 2020. Service at SHARE included learning to drive a forklift, operating the cardboard baler, painting, and distribution.
After a short stint as a part-time government contractor, Jim landed a full-time position as Deputy Director of Strategic Wargaming at the Army War College. In 2019, Jim received the Excellence in Teaching Award for electives instruction.
As Grand Knight of Saint Patrick’s Council, Knights of Columbus, Jim encouraged them to be regular distribution volunteers. His wife Linda has been a regular Project SHARE Volunteer since 2017!
Teresa Festivo
Teresa Festivo is the Board Vice-Chair. She serves as a Branch Manager, Assistant Vice President, at M&T Bank in Carlisle. She has been with M&T Bank for 19 years. She is passionate about their mission to serve the local communities that we live and work in. She especially enjoys providing financial literacy to local organizations through M&T Bank’s Money Mentor program. Teresa is an alumnus of the Leadership Cumberland Class of 2023. She joined Project Share as a fellow and officially joined the board in May of 2023 and serves as a member of the Development Committee. Teresa also supports and serves as a committee member with the United Way, the Carlisle Chamber and Community CARES. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and vacationing on any beach.
Erin Wilfong
Erin Wilfong is the Board Secretary and is the ICU Unit Director at UPMC Carlisle. Erin has been providing nursing care to the Carlisle community since 2011.
She completed her Masters of Nursing with a focus on nursing leadership and administration. Additionally, Erin is board certified by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
She is also a 2020 Alumni of Leadership Cumberland. Erin is excited to expand her service to the community by working with Project SHARE.
Erin and her husband, Nate, love going on outdoor adventures with their three children.
Shawn Bernheisel
Shawn serves as Treasurer. A Carlilian by birth, Shawn graduated from Carlisle High School in 2004. In 2008,graduation from Syracuse University’s Martin J Whitman School of Management with a B.S. in Accounting. In 2009, he earned his Master’s in Accounting from the same university. Upon graduating, Shawn worked as a tax preparer. In 2010, he moved back to the area to work in a corporate accounting department for a multi-national company located in Harrisburg, PA. Shawn started his career at Cohick & Associates as a tax preparer in 2015 and became an Enrolled agent in 2016. Shawn is active on other boards including Carlisle Young Professionals and Carlisle Lacrosse. Shawn enjoys rooting for Syracuse sports and playing volleyball.
Nicole Deary
Nicole Deary is the President and CEO of the Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce. Nicole also serves as the Executive Director of Leadership Cumberland, a nonprofit that develops effective leaders for the workplace and community. She was Project SHARE’s previous Chair. Nicole has a deep desire to leave the world better than she found it. She is also Vice Chair of the Carlisle Kiwanis Club and used to work at SHARE as the Media and Business Development Director 11 years ago. Nicole’s favorite quote, by Churchill, is also her mantra “you make a living by what you get, you make a life by what you give.” Nicole and her husband, Mark, live in Carlisle with their two children, Hayley and Mason, and their dog, Brady.
Breanna Frampton
Bree Frampton serves as the HR Generalist at The GIANT Company. She provides counsel to team members and managers regarding company policies/practices, drives team member development activities, and executes team member recognition programs. Bree has an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from HACC as well as a B.A. in Marketing and Human Resources from Shippensburg. Post graduation, she started her professional journey at Sun Motor Cars BMW, then joined The GIANT Company in 2019. Excited to make a difference in the community, Bree joined the board at Project SHARE in 2023, bringing enthusiasm and a passion for eliminating hunger to the table. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her husband, Mark, and dog, Teddy.
Brian Gochenour
Brian has been Principal of North Dickinson Elementary in Carlisle since 2013. Previously, Brian taught computer education and 2nd grade at Silver Spring Elementary in the Cumberland Valley School District from 1997-2010, as well as served as Assistant Principal at Mifflinburg Elementary and Intermediate Schools from 2010-2013. Brian received his B.S. Ed., M. Ed. in Special Education, and his Principal Certification from Shippensburg University. He is an alumnus of the Reading Buccaneers Drum and Bugle Corps (1995-2000). Brian and his wife, Kristen, live in Mechanicsburg with their son, Rylan, daughter, Caroline, golden retriever Axel, and gray cat, Sizzle. He enjoys spending time at Lake Wallenpaupack with his family, as well as playing golf, and watching Penn State and the Dallas Cowboys.
Madelyn Snyder
Madelyn Snyder currently serves as the chair of the Development and Communications Committee. Maddy moved to central Pennsylvania in 2019 to attend Dickinson Law. She began volunteering at Project SHARE with the law school that same year and has been committed to the work of the organization ever since, joining the Board of Directors in 2020. Maddy especially enjoys her committee-work, since she began her career working at small Christian colleges in development. Maddy is now an attorney working for the United States judiciary in Harrisburg. She also serves as the president of the Dickinson Law Alumni Society. She lives in Mount Holly Springs with her husband, Kyle, and their cat, Macaroon.
Mikayla Snyder
Mikayla Snyder is the Marketing Analyst at F&M Trust. In her role, she utilizes the bank’s marketing technology to build insights that target messaging and inform campaign strategies. She joined Project SHARE’s board in 2022, bringing a passion for community building, creative solutions, and lifelong learning. Mikayla earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Penn State University and is also a graduate of Leadership Cumberland. She currently resides in Mechanicsburg, and as a proud native of Central Pennsylvania, Mikayla is committed to supporting and staying active in her local community.
Jan Ewing
Jan Ewing most recently served as the Chief of Staff and VP People Operations for CommunityAid. She has experience in several different industries, including government contractor for submarines, electronics, consumer packaged goods, fresh produce wholesale and non-profit thrift. Jan’s background is in IT, supply chain, logistics, strategic planning and project management.
Her passion has always been acquiring knowledge and helping others. By identifying our true passion, along with the team around us, companies can thrive. If we can understand and use our gifts well, uncovering blind spots and holding each other accountable, there is nothing a strong, healthy team cannot accomplish.
Jan currently lives in Boiling Springs and has two daughters who are married.
Megan McAvoy
Megan is an HR Business Partner at West Shore Home. In her role, she works with employees at all levels of the organization to educate them on company procedures and coach them through sensitive situations. Megan prides herself in the relationships she has built with the company’s leaders across the nation and looks forward to building more connections through her involvement with Project SHARE as a board member and member of the communications committee. Megan moved to Central Pennsylvania in 2019 and is excited to give back to the community she has grown to admire. Megan’s passion for cooking and wellness aligns perfectly with Project SHARE’s mission, and she is committed to being an advocate for the organization.
