EDUCATION & NUTRITION

Part of Project SHARE’s mission is to provide numerous opportunities for our clients to learn about health and nutrition for their entire family.

Kids in the Kitchen

The last 2017 Kids in the Kitchen will be on December 6th from 4:30-6pm. In 2018, we are offering three levels of kids cooking classes: Tots in the Kitchen (ages 4-8), Cubs in the Kitchen (ages 8-12), and Young Chefs in the Kitchen (ages 12-17).  Kids will learn to cook and prepare easy, fun, and nutritious recipes in the Project SHARE kitchen. Spots fill up fast, so register children at our Time to Sign Up page today! More info here.

Slice of the Month

Introducing a new addition to our popular kitchen programs at Project SHARE staring in 2018: Slice of the Month, a SHARED Experience for Adults. This interactive adult cooking class, held the second Thursday of every month from 5-7, shows adults how to prepare easy, delicious recipes with the food that will be available at our main Distribution and/or at Farmstand that month. Participants learn new techniques from chopping and mixing, to sautéing and baking. After each class, participants walk away with valuable nutrition knowledge, simple recipes, as well as lasting friendships and full bellies. Spots will fill up fast, so sign up today at our Time to Sign Up page! See the 2018 schedule and more info by clicking here.

Food for Life

Our dynamic group, Food for Life, prepares healthy recipes and warm hospitality for all our volunteers and clients during the week of Distribution.  The participants use ingredients offered in our Distribution to provide creative and nutritious ways to feed the whole family. Food for Life meets on Monday of Distribution week from 8:30 – 11 am to prepare food. Contact our Nutrition Coordinator, Weston, at 717-249-7773 extension 231 for more information or to sign up!
