Project SHARE’s Food Truck Festival, benefitting Project SHARE is aptly named FARE for SHARE. On Sunday September 19th from 2:30 to 7pm ten food trucks will be cooking tasty offerings from around the region, America and the globe. The organizers describe it as the tastiest fun filled event to say good bye to summer and welcome the fall for families and all those looking to enjoy some time out while also benefitting the community served by Project SHARE’s food pantry.
FARE for SHARE was conceived as an alternative fund raising event during the pandemic. “Last year’s event was so successful that we felt a need to expand our space needs and found the perfect location thanks to the congregation at The Meeting House on Walnut Bottom Road.” stated Jacqui Hultquist, Chair of FARE for SHARE. As a result this year’s event has 10 food trucks participating: Banana Leaf; B & L Dogz; Bricker’s French Fries; Chameleon 1648; Falafel Shack; Farm Show Milkshakes; Italian Job; P. B.’s Southern Smoke ; The Sweet Patch; and Jenni’s Knife & Spork. “Each food truck vendor has a large following in the area and we expect a great turn out and a grand time for all.” added Deb Hess, Development Director at Project SHARE.
In addition to all the great food, the event will host kid’s activities including a bouncy castle and slide, thanks to the First Church of God. More sedate games will include a coin drop and a Plinko board for prizes. Live music will wend it’s way through the event thanks to By the Way, Men About Town and the KZ Trio.
The event is sponsored by Life Guide Financial, M&T Bank, GIANT and Lamar Advertising.
